In Need of a Box Van

We are in need of a new or used  box van to help pick up and deliver donations.  We currently work out of a 4 x 8 trailer that we can only use depending weather.  If anyone could donate a box van, we would be greatly appreciative, and allow us to move the homeless into apartments rain or shine!

Homeless Family Needs Help

I have been blessed getting to know this sweet family!  Don & his children came to Knoxville a short time ago, and are currently staying the Rescue Mission.  We are working on housing and a permanent job for him.  He has construction work experience, and is a great worker.  All of them have been such a blessing to our ministry.   Please help us pray for God to open doors for them so they can be blessed to find a home of their own!  Please email Stephanie with any job leads.

New Office & Warehouse

We have stepped out on faith and rented a building next door that has an office & large warehouse. It's such a blessing to have a little room to work in, and the first time we've actually had an office to work out of, which is nice. The rent is $500/month, and we certainly would appreciate any love offering or monthly sponsorship offering to help us cover part of this expense. Any donation would be greatly appreciated! We also will be painting, adding shelves, and organizing if any group or person would like to help out!

Prayer

This ministry started because of a prayer, and we are still here because of prayer. We allow God to guide us through prayer, answered prayer, and listening to Him. Please pray for us! Pray that God will continue to guide us, pray that we follow His will, no matter how difficult it is, pray for strength, pray for volunteers with the right hearts. Pray for transformation of all of us! Pray that bondages are broken when the homeless turn to Him. Pray that God raises them up and uses their testimonies to help others. Pray that we continue to make disciples in downtown Knoxville to spread the Good News about Christ! Pray that God continues to meet all of our needs when we continue to do whatever He wants!

Monetary Donations

We are in critical need of financial donations. We need approximately $2000/month to run our ministry. We operate solely with volunteers. Noone gets paid to help the homeless or this ministry. 100% of the finances given goes directly to providing services that help them get off the streets, such as providing State ID's, transportation to Social Security to receive their cards, transportation to finding apartments, applying for jobs, or help with moving into new apartments. Used Clothing

We have the clothing room open to the homeless Tuesday-Thursdays and Sunday if they are in need of clothes or supplies. We are in need of casual men, women, and children's clothing of season only. We have no storage room for items not in season. We also need used jackets, coats, shoes, work boots, socks, underwear, and bras. Please drop off any donations to Water Angels, 907 University Avenue on Tuesday-Thursday from 9-2 or Sundays from 1-5 PM.

Food Pantry

We do provide an emergency food pantry at the church to anyone out of food. We are always in need of canned fruits, vegetables, and meat, including pop top cans for those staying outside in camps. Box cereal, rice, beans, mac/cheese is always good as well. Toiletry items, feminine products, and first aid supplies are also needed. You can drop off at Water Angels, 907 University Avenue on Tuesday-Thursday from 9-2 PM and on Sundays from 1-5 PM.

We also have public Food Pantries six times a year, where we purchase a half truck of food from Second Harvest for $300. If you would like to help sponsor this expense, please mail donations to: Water Angel Ministries; PO Box 22153; Knoxville, TN 37933 and put in memo-Food Pantry.

Shining Star Club

We do need volunteers to come work with the kids on the first Saturday of each month. We also need a group to provide lunch that day, or a craft. We also allow the children to earn points for new or gently used toys, books, or clothing, so we need these items each month. If you would rather donate to this club, we can get the items necessary. Any product donations can be delivered to Water Angels at 907 University Avenue on Tuesday-Thursday from 9-2 or on Sundays from 1-5 PM.

Volunteers

We do need volunteers during the week: Tuesday-Thursday between 9-2 to help out with classes, provide lunch, and/or help restocking & cleaning church for Sunday. On Tuesday & Wednesday, we also help the homeless move into apartments. We could use some muscles to help move furniture. If you have a truck, that's awesome, if not, we do have a van & trailer we use.

We also need volunteers on Sundays from 1-5 to help out with children's room, clothing room, food pantry room, and praying with people after the services.

We also need volunteers for different functions like the public Food Pantries and Shining Star Club meetings.

Laundry Services

We do allow the homeless to wash their clothes on Tuesday-Thursday from 9-1. We are in need of laundry detergent, bleach, and fabric softener to help out with expenses. A special thanks to KARM for donating a washer & dryer & for First Baptist Gardendale, Alabama for wiring it in!
